Reviews for Trooper Down!
Reviewer: Jay Chandrasekhar from Los Angeles, CA
This is an excellent guide to discovering who stands behind the
badges of the Highway Patrol. I have a newfound appreciation
for the men and women who risk their lives each day even when
they have to do so in an environment of decreasing respect and
increasing firepower. I strongly recommend this book.

I am fifteen years old and from the time I was ten, I wanted to
be a state trooper. I thought that the Highway Patrol was a safe
lifestyle. Then I read this book and discovered that the patrol
is a dangerous business. Bits of the book were very frightening
and sad. Everyone should read this book to see what troopers
are really like.

This is an excellent book on the North Carolina Highway Patrol,
the troopers, and their families. It is full of true stories
that will take your breath away. From the cadet who has just
joined the patrol to the retired trooper there are many interesting
and heart wrenching memories. A MUST READ!

A realistic overall picture of what it is like to be a state trooper.
It is obvious that actual troopers had direct input into the
composition of this book.

This book enables the reader to get a small
glimpse into the workings of one of the nation’s most elite
branches of law enforcement. These often unsung heroes are brought
into a new light when you discover the behind-the-scenes goings
on of the men and women in silver and black.

Trooper Down is one of the only books to actually allow you to
become a part of the group of individuals that protect and serve
our country every day. It is written in such a way that you follow
these men and women from basic training all the way through real
life and death events.
